Our local cafe, owned by Susan McCrone, is situated next to the Bigton Playground and stands in the middle of our village. The cafe is ideally situated for visitors to relax before or after visiting our world famous sand tombolo which connects St Ninian's Island to the south mainland.
The cafe serves a wide range of drinks and Shetland cuisine. It is open from 1100 to 1800 Thursday to Monday. A gallery is also in the cafe where Shetland based artists are able to exhibit their works which have to be a Shetland theme and available for sale. The latest showing is of photographs of the Shetland Whaling industry.
Please note: For the winter months: The cafe will be open on Friday and Saturday-11.00 am to 5.00 pm then evening meals 7.30 pm to 10.00pm. Sunday 11.00 am to 5.00 pm.
